What are the advantages of a second independent browser?
The second independent browser (also called a "2-deck browser" or "second browser window") offers several advantages,
especially for DJs who want to work efficiently and quickly. Here are the most important ones:
✅ 1. Comparing two playlists
You can display two different playlists or folders side by side and check whether a specific track is present in PL1 and PL2!
This is currently only possible in VDJ with considerable effort!!!!!!
Ideal for quickly moving tracks between playlists or comparing them (e.g., by genre, mood, or BPM).
✅ 2. Easier drag & drop
Tracks can be moved directly from one playlist to another using drag & drop, without having to constantly switch between views.
✅ 3. Preparing sets
For example, you can display your "Main Playlist" on the left and your "Set Playlist" on the right – this allows you to compile tracks specifically.
✅ 4. Improved Overview
More information at a glance: e.g., BPM, key, ratings, comments, etc. from two lists at once.
✅ 5. Quick access to related tracks
For example, you can search for tracks in the first browser and display favorites or suggestions in the second.
✅ 6. Combined with the Preview Function
You can quickly preview tracks while both browsers are open – this helps you make better decisions when building sets.
When is it particularly useful?
When creating new playlists
When comparing versions or remixing a track
When you want to effectively manage a large music library

make 1 playlist a sideview shortcut. Then you can view 2 lists at once.

That's how I have it, but with it I can only display and not search, which is a big problem with playlists with many titles

So be smart with your key shortcuts then, it doesn't need a 2nd browser [which is unlikely to happen] at most you just need a quick way to move what the songs section is pointed at, and one more browser split to hold a 2nd list.
In image the added list to the right of the sideview is another playlist

Also, you can map a key to search_playlists
This will search in all open lists and show the results first, so it can be used to search for a track within automix or sidelist

Hi ADION, What is the command for assigning the key? I don't understand it correctly.

It's highlighted.

I've since tested "search_playlists," but it's completely useless.
It lists all playlists containing the corresponding title.
For example, for "Michael Jackson - Billie Jean," I have over 30 lists.
Now I have to search through the playlist search to see if the corresponding playlist is there,
which isn't feasible in a hurry.

ADION already explained that the option searches (and displays results from) open playlists first - so if you're working on a playlist called Banana, the results from that command will show the Banana playlist first (if it contains the track).

And if you double click it, VirtualDJ will navigate inside the "Banana" playlist in the location the file is listed.
